Facebook adding an unsubscribe button to comment notifications

This is a great idea from facebook and about time as far as I’m concerned.  At the moment you make a comment on your friends post and before you know others have done the same and you are swamped in update notifications or worse have it set to go to your email and its clog up like bees to honey. 

Well this is all about to change!  Facebook has begun testing a feature which lets users opt-out of those notifications, phew!  You will just need to click a simple “Unsubscribe” link where you can turn off notifications from stories that you comment or like.  This has been much called for and will be a useful feature to control what you want to see and hear.  There will be thousands of users I’m sure that will be pleased that this has been created. 

So what’s next then, maybe a dislike button? Watch this space…

    I think the more i see this post and still hear people talking about the more i think it will never happen.
    Not that it wouldnt be a good idea from a user point of view, after all there have been loads of times of wanted to dislike a post…but because facebook wants to spread the positve social love and that only comes with like and positivity.
    But the question has to be asked is this really showing what people want. At least other social sites give an option of a thumbs up or down and star ratings…..one for thought.
